This Cookie Policy explains how OSRS Scry Exchange uses cookies and similar technologies on this site, and how you can control them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. We also use related storage such as localStorage for preferences (including your consent choice).
2. Categories we use
- Essential — required for sign-in sessions, security (CSRF/auth cookies), load balancing, and remembering your cookie preference. These run whether or not you accept optional cookies.
- Product analytics — we use PostHog to understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Without your consent it runs in a cookieless mode: nothing is stored on your device and visits are counted with a privacy-preserving, daily-rotating hash. If you choose Accept all, PostHog may also store an identifier and record anonymised session replays (all form inputs are masked).
- Optional diagnostics — client error monitoring (Sentry) to detect and fix bugs. Loaded only if you choose Accept all.
- Advertising — free accounts may see ads from Google AdSense, and we may use Google Analytics to measure traffic. These use Google Consent Mode: until you choose Accept all, Google may only serve non-personalised ads and cookieless measurement. Visitors in the UK, EEA and Switzerland are also shown Google's own consent message. Scry Premium members never see ads.
3. Your choices
On first visit we ask for consent. You can change your mind below at any time. Choosing Essential only keeps analytics cookieless, disables diagnostics and session replay, and opts you out of personalised advertising (including the "sale" or "sharing" of data for targeted ads under US state privacy laws).
4. Third parties
Optional tools may set their own cookies or collect device/browser metadata subject to their privacy policies (PostHog, Sentry, Google). See our Privacy Policy for processors.
5. Browser controls
You can also clear cookies and site data in your browser settings. Clearing site data will reset your consent preference and sign you out of local sessions.
